Forms of Customer Identification

Before your visit

  • Bring along two forms of ID: both a primary and secondary form of identification.
  • Make sure all your documents are original and up-to-date (no copies or screenshots please).
  • It's advisable to have a U.S. address (including your apartment or dorm number) and a valid phone number before you open an account.

United States Citizens

For US citizens, the following are acceptable forms of primary and secondary identification.

    • Any US state or US territory-issued driver's license with a photo (NOTE: US territories include Guam, Northern Mariana Islands (SAIPAN), Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands)
    • Any US state or US territory-issued ID with photo
    • Texas Conceal Carry License or License to Carry with photo
    • Global Entry card with photo that is Real ID Act compliant.
    • Passport book with photo (NOTE: A passport card cannot be accepted.)
    • Travel VISA
    • US Military ID with photo
    • US Tribal or Bureau of Indian Affairs ID with photo from any federally recognized tribe
    • US Veteran's ID with photo
    • Any form of primary identification
    • Bank statement less than 60 days old with name and address
    • Employer pay stub or paycheck less than 60 days old with name and address
    • Federal tax return less than 2 years old with name and address
    • Medicaid / Medicare card
    • Social Security card
    • US Certified birth certificate
    • US Concealed Carry license with a photo
    • Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card with photo
    • US Government Youth Work Program photo ID
    • US Property tax bill with name and address
    • US Student ID with photo
    • US Voter ID card
    • Utility bill less than 60 days old with name and address
    • W-2 with social security number less than 2 years old with name and address
    • Welfare or food stamp card

Non-United States Citizens: Permanent Residents

For non-US citizens who are permanent residents, the following are acceptable forms of primary and secondary identification.

    • Any US state or US territory-issued driver's license with photo (NOTE: US territories include Guam, Northern Mariana Islands (SAIPAN), Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Island)
    • Any US state or US territory-issued ID with photo
    • Passport book with photo (NOTE: A passport card cannot be accepted)
    • Permanent Resident card with photo (Also known as the Green card or Permanent Resident Alien card.)
    • Travel VISA
    • US Employment Authorization card with photo
    • US Military ID with photo
    • US Veteran's ID with a photo
    • Any form of primary identification
    • Bank statement less than 60 days old with name and address (NOTE: Bank must be located in US)
    • Employer pay stub or paycheck less than 60 days old with name and address
    • Medicaid / Medicare card
    • Social Security card
    • US Concealed Carry license with a photo
    • US Government Youth Work Program photo ID

    • US Student ID with photo

Non-United States Citizens: Non-Permanent Residents

For non-US citizens who are non-permanent residents, the following are acceptable forms of primary and secondary identification.

    • Any US state or US territory-issued driver's license with photo (NOTE: US territories include Guam, Northern Mariana Islands (SAIPAN), Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Island)
    • Any US state or US territory-issued ID with photo
    • Passport book with photo (NOTE: A passport card cannot be accepted)
    • Travel VISA
    • US Employment Authorization card with photo
    • Consular Identification Card, e.g., Matricula, etc. with a photo
    • Any form of primary identification
    • Bank statement less than 60 days old with name and address (NOTE: Bank must be located in US)
    • Employer pay stub or paycheck less than 60 days old with name and address
    • Social Security card
    • US Government Youth Work Program photo ID
    • US Property tax bill with name and address
    • US Student ID with photo
    • Utility bill less than 60 days old with name and address
    • Foreign National ID with a photo
    • Student INS I-20 or ICE I-20
